Itinerary Details:
Day 1: HANOI ARRIVAL – ½ DAY CITY TOUR HANOI
Private transfer and accommodation for two nights in one of the "thirty-six former street", which is the old district of trades. The hotel is on a human scale; the street on balconies serve bright and spacious rooms, elegantly and simply furnished. An oasis of calm in an environment that is both peaceful and buzzing, as the famous Lake of Restored Sword (Hoan Kiem Ho) is nearby.
The program: check in and relax after the flight, then we enjoy the traditional massage. Then ride rickshaws in the colonial city and around the lake, visit the Temple of the Jade Mountain, which are revered martial virtues, the spirit of the soil, literature and medicine. The evening meal in a restaurant where the good spirits of Vietnamese cuisine are devout followers. Overnight in hotel
Day 2: HANOI – FULLDAY CITY
If you get up early, you can go to Hoan Kiem Lake, where Hanoians practice tai chi. This is excellent for body balance. Then breakfast: pho (beef broth, noodles, coriander ...). It's great for morale. During the day, we visit the mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh and his stilt house, Mot Côt Pagoda (One Pillar - thirteenth and twentieth centuries), Temple of Literature (Confucius, founded in the eleventh century), Ethnographic Museum, Quan Thanh Taoist Temple (founded in the eleventh century) ...
Program - The art of water puppetry is millennium and was born in the rice fields of the Red River Delta. It is a typical Vietnamese theatrical genre, which continues today to make impertinent chronicle of peasant life. We are witnessing one of these amazing shows in a special theater. Overnight in hotel
Day 3: HANOI – NGHIA LO
Drive to the historic village of Duong Lam, rare example of fully preserved traditional village. On site, there rides a bicycle. Visit the main buildings (the beautiful town hall of Mong Phu district in particular). Continue to Nghia Lo, set in a large rice bowl surrounded by mountains. The city was a pretty important position during the French period (she had the honors of a regular attack of General Giap in 1951, as part of the Battle of Tonkin). Walking and overnight in a simple and functional hotel.
Day 4: NGHIA LO – MU CANG CHAI
Nice mountain road to Mu Cang Chai, where we arrive for lunch. On the way, stop in black Hmong villages. In the afternoon, hike (one hour and a half) to meet the Thai villages. The terraced rice cultivation gives the landscape the look and shimmering geometric characteristic and beautiful. We are confused by what it took to work and time to achieve that perfect blend of agriculture and of aesthetic feeling. Night in a well-kept gueshouse in Mu Cang Chai.
Day 5: MU CANG CHAI – SAPA
Road to the former colonial hill station of Sapa, whose population is black Hmong. The landscape of mountains and rice fields, which sometimes give the mist unexpected Austrian air, is a serene and picturesque green. Hiking and visiting the Red Dao village of Sin Chai (three hours). Some walking is a measure of what works and days in this region. Overnight in Sapa, between the market and the church.
Day 6: SAPA – MU CANG CHAI – TRAIN TO HANOI
Early morning, transfer to Y Linh Ho, start hiking in Sapa Valley. On the way, visit black Hmong villages. The walk leads to Giang Ta Chai beautiful waterfalls. Transfer to Lao Cai on the border with China on the other side of the bridge is He Kou, Yunnan. Visit to Three Mothers Temple (Heavenly, Scotch and water), very revered and sought for a variety of reasons for the little people. Night train to Hanoi.
Day 7: HANOI – THUNG NANG – TAM COC
Passage to the hotel to freshen up and breakfast. Then, towards Ninh Binh, including rice fields and limestone peaks are a "Halong Bay on land".
Upon arrival, take 1,5 hour boat rowing at Thung Nang. This area is famous for its wonderful landscape of karst formations. The scenery along the gentle row is stunning and it is deserved to be the highlight activities of the day. Back to the dock and move to a local restaurant for a Vietnamese lunch. In the afternoon, you will continue your visit to Thai Vi temple, which is dedicated to the country’s national heroes. (From the restaurant, you can choose to go to the temple on foot, by bikes or by your private car. We are flexible for this and you just talk with your guide to get the one you prefer). Day 8: NINH BINH – HA LONG
The tour guide and driver will get back and pick you up for the morning drive overland to Halong City, your entry point to the Bay of the World Heritage by UNESCO. Thousands of islands rise dramatically from the waters of Halong Bay and, to further their beauty, intricate cave systems naturally exist throughout these limestone karst formations. The traditional styled junk will cruise in between the towering islands, visit a limestone cave in the afternoon and do some kayaking and swimming (depending on the weather) Your accommodation tonight is a truly special experience – sleeping on a boat surrounded by high limestone karsts. Overnight on board.
Day 9: HALONG – HANOI
In the morning, we discover the bay. The visit to the floating village of Vung Vieng is a unique moment of exchange with fishermen and their families. Swimming and return to port. Drive to Hanoi through the rice fields of the Red River Delta. On the way, stop at the splendid But Thap pagoda (seventeenth century). Perhaps the most beautiful religious building in Vietnam. Day 10: HANOI – DEPARTURE
Transfer to the airport in Hanoi for your flight off.
